Employee Health Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities:
  • Functions as a professional nurse applying theoretical knowledge to the case management of workers' compensation cases.
  • Communicates and coordinates case management activity with injured worker and appropriate individuals, including supervisor/manager, human resources business partners, third-party administrator, physician, etc.
  • Collaborates with Employee Health and Safety team to implement and coordinate injury-prevention programs, ergonomics, respirator protection program, annual influenza campaign and the Safety Committees.
  • Recognizes, educates and advises workers on identifying, reducing and eliminating health and safety risks in the work environment. Addresses any potentially unsafe equipment or procedures.
  • Conducts assessment of work and non-work-related injuries/illnesses and coordinates appropriate treatment and referral.
  • Assesses immunization status of staff to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Provides education about preventing exposure to communicable diseases, as well as post-exposure evaluation and surveillance for employees exposed to potentially infectious diseases.
  • Promotes a culture of health by educating and administering testing, evaluations, safety rounds and screenings that support employee health, safety and well-being programs.
  • Evaluates information and data to continually assess current state. Engages with key stakeholders to problem solve and effectively manage change for optimal employee health, safety and well-being.
  • Participates in committees and process improvements to contribute employee health subject matter expertise. Develops and presents employee health, safety and well-being data to leadership.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • NJ RN license.
  • Five years of clinical nursing experience with a minimum three years of workers' compensation, case management, occupational health or infection control experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with a variety of staff and physicians.
  • Good organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
